Lots of different bird and wild fowl species to see. Walkway =easy to navigate and doesn't require much effort. Hide readily accessible and, depending on your luck, gives a great vantage point to see some of the birds. Note, in September after a heavy month...More

This has been a family walk, 6 or more times a year for the last 15 years. It is tranquil, open, mostly flat, and great on a sunny day.

This is an easy walk along a broadwalk a lot of the way. It is a bird sanctuary and you can spot many various kinds. There are information boards along the way to help you identify them. Lovely flat easy walk

It was a great walk but I think the recommended grading is greater than it says. Need to be fit. and takes longer than they say. but still worth it.

Nice walkway and track, but does get muddy after rain, or even parts under a little water, so check the forecast.

We were surprised by the amount of birdlife in the area - so many varieties, so close to view. Lovely views across the lake. Easy walk with boardwalk for nearly all of walk.

This is a 5.5km walk by Lake Okareka which is very pleasant although don't forget to sunscreen on a hot day as it's exposed and not under bush much. We enjoyed walking beside the wetlands where a variety of birds are nesting, particularly the Canadian...More
