Ohinemutu is a wonderful place to visit and spend time. The carvings on the Wharenui (Meeting House) are wonderful, and the Church is uniquely fascinating.

My partner said hey there is this place I used to visit when I was a child growing up in Rotorua. We ended up spending 3-4 hours wandering around enjoying the ambience of this Maori historical place.

We had a stroll around Ohinemutu and admired the beautiful church and felt we had connected with a beautiful part of our cultural heritage. A good free option for a casual stroll from the lakefront.
