Due to Earthquake damage this isn't open at present. None of the information we had received advised us of this

The travelling exhibition of Da Vinci's amazing inventions, designs, and engineering attempts was absolutely amazing! The examples of some of his designs, especially those that are hands-on, added so much to the exhibit. Very pleased I managed to see this; I learned a great deal about this brilliant mind. Unfortunately, my experience with today's talk, The Art and Sympbols of... More

Not only the inside the outside is equally beautiful - lots of walks around the gardens - great architecture!

Call before visiting to see if renovations have been complete. While the museum itself is closed, you will enjoy strolling through the adjacent gardens and public art collection. The grounds are beautiful and full of attractive flower beds.

Beautiful gardens and surrounding area. The museum itself was closed due to an earthquake in 2016. Still worth a visit to check out the garden

Will be one of the first families back once it reopens. Great gardens to visit in the meantime. So much here. Iconic building.

We arrived at the museum to find a sign that it is closed indefinitely for earthquake fortification. The building is beautiful and worth seeing. The gardens and other building are quaint. Croquet and lawn bowling greens and a large hot pool in yet another intetesting building. Pool use $11 per adult. All very colonial. There is a walk by the... More

Just in case you don't find out until you get there (like me), the Rotorua museum is fenced off and "closed indefinitely for earthquake assessment." Now you know.

This beautiful building is currently closed as it is at risk from seismic activity. I am sure that the contents of the museum itself has been moved elsewhere as this is an amazing area,

Made a point of walking to the Museum in the morning to explore. It's set in some very nice gardens with a superb lawn to its front which is home to the very active Rotorua Croquet Club. It's very quaint but great to see. The war memorials are also a 'Lest we forget' must see. Spend a moment there in... More
