Nice Find

We stumbled across Haruru Falls as we drove around Paihia. Lovely waterfall surrounded by bushland and walking trails

it may have been the time of year but the falls were only a fraction of what we had thought they would be...the bike ride from there on the back roads was amazing though!

If you are passing by make a quick pit stop but don't make a special journey. The Falls weren't particularly impressive (in January).

Wasn't planning on going to these falls but stumbled across them whilst on route some where else. Worth seeing

Loved the chickens who greeted us in the parking lot. Spent more time photographing them than the falls. The falls themselves we're 'nice' but the bridge in that background and brown water ruined the nature experience. The place was well maintained and the walk to the falls in excellent condition. Need better sign to say how to get to falls.

Very short walk, quite muddy after the rain, impressive volume of water over quite low falls. Free so drop in if going past.

Just off the Kerikeri-Paihia road. Water smells very moldy/musty, and looks not very attractive (I realise the colour probably comes from tannin, but it looks like if plenty of cattle live upstream :-( The parking seems to be high risk for property theft - I would recommend skipping this attraction. The same is true for kayak trips to Haruru Falls... More

The Haruru Falls are interesting but not overly impressive except for the mass of water continuously falling over the drop. The walking track from the falls follows the side of the river to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The track is well constructed and relatively level. It follows the rain forest and conceals many bird species.

You drive over these on the bridge north. Parking area with lots of funny chickens and roosters you can feed they follow you everywhere. They tried to get in my car. It was raining so the falls were flowing very strongly which was exciting. Great to see.
