Worth a Look

Not the biggest of falls and when we visited the water levels were low, but enjoyable. You can either drive, walk from Waitangi grounds or even canoe up to them.

Lovely area that we were lucky enough to see after some rain. Pretty cruisy walk around. Hilarious freerange chooks everywhere - what's the story with that?

Not much water in the falls, snd they aren't very high anyway, so definitely not worth going out of your way to visit.

Only 3.5 km outside of Paihia so it's very close by but to be honest disappointed that it's no more than approximately 3 to 4 M in height . I was expecting a spectacular high waterfall with stunning scenery to boot . Hardly worth going .

We were on an evenings dinner cruise which brought us right to the base of the water fall, it isn't Niagra Falls but it is still very impressive.

These falls are small but was worth a look. Canoeing to the falls is available. You can walk along the rocks over the top of the falls Easily accessible.

The walk there is nice but the falls themself nothing special. The falls are directly next to the water treatment station.

As with nearly all waterfalls, the amount of rain an area has recently gotten will DRAMATICALLY impact the size of the cascade. In the case of Haruru Falls in the middle of a drought, they are on the smaller size. Though, despite the size, they are still a fun side trip to take. You can drive there from the Treaty... More

THe falls were the destination of a short bush walk we enjoyed from the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. WE had intended to canoe back from the falls but a cruise ship visiting the Bay had booked them all, so we walked back. THe falls themselves are backed by a modern road bridge and with little water when we visited, they looked... More
