You can walk all the way along the seafront to the next part of the town via a bridge where the Waitangi Treaty Grounds are located. It's a beautiful walk that takes a good 45 mins at a strolling pace, public toilets are available along...More

You can sit in two different restaurants (with bars), while you gaze at the incredible scenery of the Bay of Islands. There are shops, and an I-Site for information about the area.

No denying the Bay of Islands is beautiful and Pahia has managed to juggle the hordes of tourists with a quaint but functioning town. The waters were nice to swim in, great beach for family.

One of my most favourite places in New Zealand and the historical birthplace for the British pioneers. The important places of what happened in this area and settlements around the Bay of Island shaped the national as we know it today.

If you are in Pahia, I would highly recommend a boat trip out to the islands – they are simply stunning, especially on a sunny day! You can stop on several islands and hike to viewpoints for rewarding views. There is great snorkeling on Motuarohia...More

Such a gorgeous view of the islands - we took a dolphin cruise and boarded here. The beach here is a mix of sand pebbles and some cool rocks in one area that you can explore.

BRING YOUR SUNSCREEN!!! We cringe when we see Winter white Europeans baking at the beach not aware that the NZ ozone layer is half strength and you’ll BURN in 30 minutes. It’s a beautiful setting with restaurants and shops throughout the area.

Sorry we were not there for New Years Eve - spent it in Auckland. Great fireworks there from the Sky Tower building!
