This is wherer a traveler can organize their exploration of the islands and also where they can catch ferries out to Russell which is a very charming little town with fun shops and good restaurants.

The reality is as good as its pictures. Doesn’t often happen this way, but it does in Paihia What a beautiful spot. Just walk along the walkway and look out at the water, the islands, and the sky. Take it all in.

Great place for a family picnic, sail or tour. Protected Harbour with lots to do. We had many dolphins circling our ship, Paihia is a quaint little town with lots of shopping and many great places to eat. A must visit spot.

It is a really nice small harbor town on a great bay. There are many sandy beaches to swim, paddle or sunbath on. Fresh fish and chips in a local restaurant top off a good day here.

Paihia is a very attractive place, friendly atmosphere, and a ferry ride across the water is lovely. Isn't it the "winterless north" up here? Paihia has much to offer in boat rides, fishing trips or just relaxing ambling along the street to take in the...More

Sorry we were not there for New Years Eve - spent it in Auckland. Great fireworks there from the Sky Tower building!
