Ideal for an evening stroll down to the town. Plenty of places to eat fish and chips, ice cream or other restaurants available. Plus you can book a tour for the next day

Saw lots of different islands and disembarked on one and went for an amazing walk up the hill - stunning view. Going through the hole in the rock was exhilerating.

The Paihia habour is an excellent activity centre for young and old(er). It offers a good range of fishing and sightseeing boat trips and has many other offerings suh as kayaks and parasailing. An interesting activity is the Full Circle Walk where a path around the harbour from Paihia along the coast to Opua Ferry, then back along the other... More

Very nice spot been here twice now. Everything easy to find and friendly shopkeepers. As a visitor there are several things that could be improved on. Last time I was here there was a very nice cafe opposite the harbour. Couldn't find one this time. Coffee readily available but either takeaway/bar or restaurant no a proper cafe. There is an... Relaxing yet interesting with boats and people coming and going all the time. Plenty of shops, eateries and drinking holes to choose from. Markets on Thursdays. Wander down, grab some fish and chips and have a relaxing afternoon.

We've been to Paihia a couple of times now and we always find it one of the most relaxing spots to visit. Breakfast on the wharf, take the ferry to Russell, go to the hot pools, visit the treaty grounds. So much to do.
