This was a great half-day trip. The staff on the boat were very knowledgeable and could identify the pod we came across by name. They positioned the boat so we had a great view of the Dolphins but at the same time we felt that we weren't forced upon the Dolphins. The rest of the trip we were taken to... More

We headed out on a cloudy, drizzling afternoon. We were told by the staff straight away the conditions that would prevent us from swimming with the Dolphins. This too was clearly explained on the web site. Very early in the cruise we came across a pod of about 25 Dolphins. There were babies so we understood we couldn't swim with... More

Did get a voucher for life to go back again, also had such a lovely day out on the water. We were able to go snorkelling which was fun and nice to get in the water. The Dolphins were feeding so unable to go in the water, which is a government rule, so respected this and just enjoyed my day... More

To swim with dolphins is an obvious bucket list item, so off with the boat we went. The booking staff was really friendly and clear about there only being a 40% chance of swimming with a pod (I believe this to be highly overestimated but, I haven't seen the true statistics). Nonetheless the 4h cruise wasn't as I expected it.... More

From the beginning, the crew (which was great and really helpfull) told us that we might not be able to swim with the dolphins due to strong wind but that they will do their best to find dolphins between the islands. We were offer to choose an alternative date if we wanted to. Lucky us we didn't! We found a... More

The boat was ok and the two crew were friendly enough. We did get to see a large pod of dolphins, which was lovely. However, similar to almost all the other comments below, there were young in the pod so we didn't get to swim. Obviously, the regulations are in place for a reason, but it may be suitable for... Got to see a pod of dolphins (bottle nose) playing near the rocks then interacting with us. Had some juveniles so no swimming for those that wanted to. Don't want to be cynical but not sure how many times people actually do get to swim. A stop at Otehei Bay was good to stretch the legs and give the kids... More

Booking Explore - Dolphin Encounter: don't expect to swim with the dolphins ! On the boat a couple of bad 'performers' (the crew) leave you in the assumption that you may swim with the dolphins, but it is a deceit. Before departure allready is decided that there will be no swimming. Instead of swimming you'll be dropped on a island... More

The staff was very nice, did their best to find the dolphins. At first we encounterd two dolphins who didn't want to be approched and dove deep in the water. The staff did their best to find another pod.Eventually, We got to see a pod of about 20 dolphins who swam close to us and were very playfull. The commentary was... More

We went hopefully to swim with the Dolphins and the crew spent a while searching for a pod of Dolphins. Eventually we were lucky to find a large pod and the Dolphins definitely gave us a good show by swimming alongside us, jumping out of the water etc. unfortunately the pod had babies so we were unable to swim with...
