We had a wonderful experience on the water today with Carino's crew, Captain Vanessa and 1st mate Lesley. We were picked up from the jetty at Russell by a nice big catamaran and welcoming smiles. Out from 9.40 til about 3pm we were blessed with near perfect weather, plenty of dolphins, snorkeling (all equipment supplied) and a beautiful location for... More

This was pretty much a whole day activity going from 9am-3:30pm but was definitely worth it. I went with a bunch of people from my Contiki tour and we all had a fun day out. We saw lots of Dolphins and the staff were so knowledgeable about the Marine life. Unfortunately we couldn't go swimming with the Dolphins due to... More

This was just a fantastic day out. The best way to see the bay, the boat was beautiful and the crew were so friendly and welcoming. Snorkeling was great as was the bbq!! And of course, getting to see the dolphins was just amazing. The crew and captain Vanessa knew so much about them and could identify individuals, it was... More

Saw large pod of dolphins who provided a spectacular display right beside the catamaran. Not able to swim with them as there were babies among the pod, but didn't matter. We saw these dolphins in the wild, doing what they do best. We also saw a little blue penguin which the crew quickly spotted and pointed out to us. A... More

We booked the Carino Sailing and Dolphins excursion in the hope of seeing and possibly swimming with dolphins as this company has a swimming licence. Whilst we were lucky enough to be entertained by a pod of 25 or so of these wonderful creatures, the presence of an 8 week old baby dolphin meant that we were not permitted to... More

Shown onto the boat by Captain Vanessa and her friendly crew and after a quick safety chat we were sailing out into the beautiful bay of islands. The boat was more than spacious enough for the c. 30 passengers with room to move around. The crew were quick to explain that a sighting of dolphins was not guaranteed but how... More

We were welcomed on board by the very friendly all-female crew of the Carino. We had a fabulous, relaxed day out on the boat, seeing a large pod of dolphins who swam around the boat, including a delightful young baby dolphin trying to jump out the of water. We stopped for lunch at a nice island and were able to... More

This has been one of my favourite days in NZ. We didn't get to swim with the dolphins as they had a baby with them, but the dolphins were amazing coming around the boat and playing at the front. The crew were helpful and informative, we had a nice stop at an island with a little lagoon which was great... More

This was by far the best thing we have done in New Zealand! Not only is Paihia absolutely beautiful but this sailing trip made it that much better. We saw a pod of dolphins very early on in our trip and the captain and crew were so knowledgable with the dolphins while still respecting them and their environment. They brought... More

We had a 6hr cruise around the Bay of Islands on a catamaran. It was a small group of only 12 people. The 2 female crew were fantastic. We left the pier with motors and set sail whenever possible. It was not long before we saw a large pod of dolphins frolicking around the boat. We travelled in and around... More
