We were delighted with our platinum hair lady guide. Esk Valley Winery is a handsome building, a great tasting room, and some great wines. This visit deserves 60 - 90 minutes. The manager holds great knowledge, and explains better than any Napa or Sonoma guide...More

We stopped at the Esk Valley during a recent trip to Hawke's Bay as the winery loved very attractive from the roadside as we passed by. We really enjoyed their grounds, finding it appealing, pleasant and a perfect setting for wine tasting. You can look...More

The winery is owned by Villa Maria which was started in 1930. So things around here are a bit ancient but the view towards the sea are really great. The wine tasting room also a bit old fashioned but the wines are mostly food wines...More

This vineyard is a little further out than some of the others, but we thought it worth the drive. It is certainly less commercial and a lot smaller, but that just adds to its charm. Very knowledgeable guy doing the tastings. Interesting views of their...More

I feel like we had a completely difference experience than the others who have wrote reviews. I'll start by saying the views overlooking the water and the grapes were the best of the wineries we visited. While the service wasn't rude, we found them to...More

Now owned by Villa Maria, but Gordon Russell is still Esk's wine maker with 25 years experience! Super wines. Both the 2017 Chardonnay and 2016 Reserve Chardonnay were marvellous but totally different. The Pinot Noir comes from their Marlborough vineyards and is a good medium...More

We very much enjoyed our tasting at Esk Valley. They have some of our favorite HB wines. The cellar door isn’t fancy but the views back to the sea, over the vineyard, is just fabulous.

We loved visiting Esk Valley winery. The wines were delicious (our favourites were the Chardonnay and merlot blend) and the server was lovely. Would recommend

Went for a tasting with a mix of friends - some, like myself, experienced wine drinkers while others in our group it was their first time. Extremely knowledgable and lovely staff with an excellent range of wines. The late harvest Chenin Blanc was a standout!
