I took a friend from overseas who was very impressed. Smallish and perhaps not as exciting as Kelly Tarlton's in Auckland, but still a very enjoyable experience. Nice little souvenir shop and cafe.

Lovely building, friendly staff. Not a huge variety of aquatic life. Neat to go on moving walkway and be surrounded by sharks and tropical marine life. Neat! Lovely to spend an hour there. I pre-booked to learn about the penguins, and feed and hold one....More

Thank you for the feedback. We are thrilled to know that we were able to give you the opportunity to experience first-hand your passion for penguins and we encourage everyone to take these opportunities. Are you brave enough to swim with the Sharks next time?

Animal's life space are dirty and very small sometimes. This entrance is expensive to see some poor animal not well threatened.

Thank you for your comment and suggestion. This season we are looking at implementing an ‘ambassador’ programme where volunteers are located around the building to provide additional information to the public.

It's not huge but you can tell that before you go in. It's got a lot of exhibits nonetheless and is good value for money with cute penguins and a great aquarium when you can walk under.

When we last visited the Aquarium we happened to have an out-of-town family member with us who is a biologist. She was impressed that the penguins were in an enclosure that had sand on the deck beside the pool. She said unfortunately most aquariums use...More

I enjoyed visiting the Aquarium frequently even before they got the penguins which just add to the whole experience. For a town this size to have a facility of this standard is impressive. Lots to see and learn from the exhibits-perfect for a wet school...More
