What an amazing place. We were a bit worried as the water levels were up after some heavy rain - but a local showed up and showed us the way. Everyone there was having fun and one of the coolest things was that total strangers from all over the globe were all mixing and encouraging each other and shariing in... More

This is not actually a rock fall like we expected (i.e. a cliff that rocks fall off), but a length of river that runs over a sloping rock that you can slide down. Because of this confusion we were unprepared... bring a bogie board or tyre tube and have some amazing fun...

It was not a warm day to go in the water but that did not stop my husband and teenager, they did have wet suits but still the water was a bout 12ºc. The best way to do it is with a boogie board to get maximum speed. They loved every minute despite the water temperature. Be prepared in summer... More

We visitied Rere Rockslide today 24th September, and what an amazing place this is. A fast running river wihich has a sudden dip of about 30 degrees and which is apparently popular. Car parking and toilet facilities on the site. People must be able to swim in order to use this facility - it is not difficult to understand why.... More

My wife of 25 years was uninterested but agreed "Fine, I'll take a look but I'm not getting in" After seeing the fun, she decided to "do it just 1 time". I lost count at 12. A boogie board is best but very durable inflatables work too. Check the trash can in the parking area and the trail for left... More

just over 50 km from sunny Gisborne you will have bundles of fun in summer, zipping down the natural rock slide on your lilo or soft board. There are toilets on site but please take your rubbish with you as it is not a frequent stop for the rubbish truck.

awesome but slippery! Of course common sense should tell you that being a rock slide, but when here my mate put his shoulder out cause he slipped on the rocks! Didn't dampen my enthusiasm though. Amazing rock side. However if you bring your board/stuff with you make sure you take it. Too many tourists are leaving rubbish. Good waterfalls located... More
