I live nearby. This place captures hidden restaurant and cafe gems that are waiting to be discovered. The small lights hanging reflects a "merry" snapshot of the place with the ambiance of glass walls from the nearby shops. On Weekends, it is a busy place for food stalls and gatherings to grab a bite or drinks. One can also walk a few steps to see the cruise ships docked on the other side of this road. On Weekdays, it is a buys place for coffees and people going to the Britomart Train Station. This place is near the hub of buses, trains, and ferries.

Takutai Square is in the Britomart area of the city, it is a unique urban space which is used for many events including open air cinema screenings and music events. When we visited the square it was busy as it was Waitangi Day so there were many people enjoying the sunny spells and relaxing in the square.

Lovely open square in the city with free beanbags on the grass for you to sit and people watch . Plenty of cafes / restaurants . Shops tend to be more designer/ high end of high street prices but good to window shop! Right next to the main transport hub so easy to get too .

Nice open area in Britomart where you can sit on the seats surrounding the area or just on the grass for a picnic. The market is held here on Saturdays

This is the trendy part of downtown Auckland nestled in as part of the Brttomart complex. There is a range of specialty shops targeted at the high end tourist and passengers from the cruise ships docking at Queens wharf close by, plus a growing number of trendy restaurants and bars

Walked through here on our way to our bus stop. The square has a few shops and restaurants - plus some street art. Nice feel to it.

This is a good place to spend time looking for restaurants to have a meal or see in passing. Nothing special.

New square/public place and occasionally set up for various events. May become a new meeting place as in in the heart of Britomart and central to the 'Britomart Experience' they are clearly trying to create.
My Head Office used to be the Northern Steamship building (in front) and I have now moved to the new building (behind) the square (see last photo).

Best Saturday mornings start at Takutai Square. Amazing food and drinks to be had and some great fresh produce to take home. And music too! Such a friendly vibe and my favourite place to go to every Saturday morning
