A functional centre for tourist information and ferry tickets, it also offers cafes, ice cream shops, restaurants etc and is a gateway to the shops, restaurants bars and marinas which make up the Auckland waterfront area. A good place to start enjoying the city's attractions.

This is a pleasant spot to just sit and watch the ferries coming and going, we even got to see a cruise liner as well.

At the hub of the Auckland ferry terminal stands the ferry building. It seems to have easily withstood the hands of time. There are a few areas to shop inside of it but it's better to view it from outside

This was a nice treat. We happened to catch it at dusk, so the light was fantastic. Definitely worth a stop by.

You can't miss this building. Its a very impressive "old" building surrounded by newer buildings. Its in the heart of all the action, down by the water.

This building has been renovated and is stunning!! The exterior used to look dingy and now it's worthy of postcard quality! Do check it out if you're taking the ferry, or just walking from the cruise terminal to the Viaduct. Well worth the look!

We walked the wharf area including the old ferry building. We ate at a restaurant in the building which had significantly refurbished the area. The tiny elevator served my wife well in her wheelchair.

At the end of Queen Street on the harbour the Ferry Building stands, built at the beginning of the 20th century, this beautiful building of sandstone, brick and granite and its distinct colours is eye-catching and reminds me of the Ferry Building in San Francisco. The building is registered with the Historic Places Trust in New Zealand. Now-a-days the ferry... More

This is the central water transport area for Auckland's domestic ferries and is always a busy and bustling place with lots of opportunities of places to visit by boat for a day's outing
