North Head provides stunning views for adults and tunnels for the kids to explore. There's even a very narrow dead-end tunnel that spooked the kids. At the Stone Kitchen there's a good 15 minute film on the history of North Head. It has computer simulations...More

If you're a history buff this is a great place to visit. Tunnels are fun to walk through and inspect and you get a magnificent unobstructed view of the city from the top of the hill, especially good on a sunny day.

Love North Head - magnificent views across the city, Auckland harbour, Devonport and out to the East Coast Bays. Visit one of the historic barracks and watch a video about the history of North Head. Look for the DOC guardian post too.
