Not only do you get amazing views across the city, a drive through a beatifully kept park, complete with sheep and cows (that was a nice surprise!) it was an opportunity to find out some interest facts about the history of the hill.
The view from One Tree Hill is fine, though not as good as the one from Mount Eden. Yet for those who do not walk a long way to Mount Eden summit, this one is a good alternative as you can drive up there easily.
