Excellent 360 degree view of Auckland

The view is almost as good as Sky Tower and it is free. I would recommend doing both. We went to Mount Eden as part of a tour. I don't know how you get there otherwise.

Wind your way to the summit for breathtaking views of Auckland city. It is a must see if visiting Auckland just to get your bearings and understanding of the volcanic nature of the city.

If you visit Auckland, you must take a walk to this little gem! The neighborhood around here is also great place to find a bite to eat afterwards. You can drive up, but walking is half the fun, and you save the environment as well.

We took visitors from America to the top of Mt Eden to gain a perspective of Auckland city and the greater environs. One of the party was a geologist, was fascinated by the volcanic nature of the topography....it was a beautiful day and the views were spectacular.

Steep hike, well worth the view. 360 views of the area. One of our group has limited physical abilities, and could not make the hike. Not for those who are not in good shape.

Very easy to get to using buses are the subway. The grass is beautiful lots of people have made their own trails but it doesn't detract from the beautiful scenery. Amazing views of the water and the cityscape. And there's even a gigantic crater filled with Longgrass

This is the best view of Auckland - an easy walk to the top of the crater rewards you with amazing views of the Auckland Skyline, the other volcanoes dotted around the city and Rangitoto Island. If you want to see Auckland from above- you will prefer this to the Sky Tower.

A perfect place for panoramic views of the city. Bring a picnic lunch and hang out for a while. After walking up to the top, you see the lush green volcano caldera below and the city beyond. Very scenic. Parking below is limited, so we recommend that you take the Hop-on-Hop-off bus and walk up from there. The walking is... More
