We were staying in Auckland for a few days and wanted to take in the best views of the city. We took the 274 bus from Symmonds Street up to the start of the path and walked up to the summit. The views are well...More

Nice quick and easy walk to the top of Mt Eden with great 360 degree city skyline views. Great start to the day!

I stayed close so I could do this hike everyday. The neighbourhood is quiet, gives you a good sweat. Paths as well as pavement. And a 360° view. If you stick with the paved road, I think anyone could do this hike/walk.

Nice steady climb on tarmac roads to summit. Views at the top make it all worthwhile, with excellent panorama of Auckland,Skytower,One Tree Hill,Rangitoto and the Harbour bridge. Volcanic crater is huge but sacred ground,so do not enter although you may walk the perimeter. Free parking.

It’s not that far away from the city center and it’s worth it. It’s an easy walk and you get to see the city from a different angle which is nice.

You can drive all the way up to the top of this volcanic hill although the large crater is now covered by long yellow grass. It offers a fantastic 360 degree view of Auckland below. Great place to watch fireworks on New Year’s Eve!

a inactive volcano cone in the middle of the city....but actually just one of many. You get a fantastic view over the city and the short steep ascent is definitely worth it!

A landmark of volcanic proportions in the middle of Auckland's urban setting. A perfect place to high view the surroundings volcanos (there are plenty) and the neighborhoods nested around them, with a sea backdrop. Worth every step.

Hi. Yep absolutely. It's concreted footpath all the way up. So if you go slow, weather is nice and you are wearing comfortable gear - you will be good as gold! Good luck!;)
