I work very close to Albert Park (one of the few actual 'parks' rather than 'domains' in New Zealand. I go here fairly often to have lunch and enjoy the gardens. it is the site of one of the 9 hectare Albert Barracks built as a response to the Flagstaff War. There's not much left except a stretch of the... More

This park is one of the most beautiful parks that I've ever seen! There are lots of old trees so if you have a camera and it happens to be in Auckland, you should definitely take a few photos here. The park is quite and there are only a few people around, I felt very close to the nature.

On a sunny day we wandered around this lovely park and it was a very pleasant and relaxing activity. Many people were just lying on the grass or sitting on benches enjoying the sunshine.

I really loved this place! It offers stunning views of Auckland´s Tower, a beautiful flower clock and gardens with a European layout. Although it's located within the CBD, it´s a quiet place to stroll or rest.

Auckland has many excellent and more beautiful parks, but this one really fulfills the multi-function aims that parks began to assume in cities a century or more ago. It remains a favourite.

The park is very nice. A good walk. Nice plants and trees. The main problem with the park is it is over run with homeless people sleeping in the park.

Former site of the Albert Barracks,a military fortification, it is now full of native and introduced trees, formal flowerbeds and ornamental shrubs. In the centre is a cast iron fountain imported from Britain in 1881 and a bronze statue of Queen Victoria. At one end was a former caretaker cottage that is now part of a clock museum. At the... This garden is set on a hill and is adjacent to the University. From the city centre this is a short walk to get there but this walk is steep.. Once in the park the layout is relaxing and there a quite a few well tended flower beds
