It was sad to see Queen Sreet looking so tired ans shabby with far too many homeless people. Not at all what I remembered growing up.

A great mix of old architecture and high end shops, a bustling thriving area. A slow pace is set by the many people window shopping giving you time study the area, once you have left the lower section that is being re-developed; as long as you can praise yourself out of a deck chair.

A few big designer names like Luis Vuitton but as with everywhere no-one in these shops. A little bit dated overall and shops lacked range and were a bit run-down. I love Auckland but not for Queen St. High Street and Lorne Street are a bit nicer but the attractive parts are along the harbour, Tamaki Drive. Albert Park and Meyer's Park are small but nice parks in the centre.

A mile-long street that we found contained a very wide variety of shopping - much more than we expected. Maori crafts were mixed with cheap Chinese imports so you needed to be discriminating. The ambiance was very good - there were no beggars visible and that is unusual in a big city centre.

Great places to find what you need. Lots of people crowd the street on the weekend. So much places to choose from if you're looking to dine.

This is a great area for shopping and restaurants. Close in to some hotels and the wharf area. A little bit of a climb, but not too bad.
