About
Featured in 2019 Guinness World Record Gamer's Edition and Lonely Planet, The Nostalgia Box is Australia's first interactive Video Game Console Museum. The museum is a celebration of video games and the people that made them happen. The museum contains more than 100 consoles, representing the evolution—and sometimes revolution—that occurred from the 1970s through the 2000s. Go behind the scenes of your favorite games and consoles, learning about the tremendous work that went into them. Play a plethora of classic video games, replaying games from your childhood or making entirely new discoveries. Play a round of Pong, challenge a friend to a high score in Space Invaders, or blast through levels of Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd, and Crash Bandicoot. This is merely scratching the surface. Relive your childhood, discover gaming's sometimes secret history, and plant appreciation for old-school gaming in a younger generation.

What a great place to go!!! It was so much fun! Reliving the days of Pacman, Pong, guitar hero, super Mario Bros, Alex the Kidd, game boys and so much more! We spent nearly 3 hours gaming here and my tech obsessed child hasn't stopped talking about it!!

Went for one hour, ended up spending 3 hours. My son and I both had a great time, an activity that was cross generational! Highly recommend an excellent experience for the both of us!

Can't help but admire the enthusiasm and commitment that is paid to this often looked part of modern history. The collection and explanation of the older gaming systems is tremendous. After this you have the freedom to play a range of console and arcade games. Fabulous.
Staff are happy to exchange game cartridges and disks if required.

Fantastic collection of gaming memorabilia and a wonderful walk down memory lane through the museum. Kids loved spending a couple hours here on a rainy day, checking out the old school games and consoles...they even liked Pong, admitting it was harder to play than it looked! Definitely worth a visit.

Spend 2 1/4 hours here and could have spent much more of not for having to catch a flight home.

Friendly and helpful guy in there as well.

My 12 year old didn’t want to leave, so you don’t just have to be a retro gamer to enjoy. Any video game fan will enjoy a visit to the this place.

Totally recommend

That is the best kind of review. The one where people could stay all day and reluctantly leave due to flights! lol. Thank you for coming. We hope to see you next time you come to Perth!

Gave our older kids an opportunity to get some gaming in during our visit to Perth and thought they'd spend a good while on the wide range of consoles in them museum - but we spent a little over an hour before they'd had enough.

I enjoyed the free stand up arcade games (Galaga, NBA Jam) but I've never been overly interested in consoles and only played a handful. I enjoyed the museum more with its excellent collection of consoles over the years, starting all the way back in the 1970s.

There will be kids and adults who will spend hours here, and for enthusiasts the museum will be really engaging, but I would have got more value for money playing pinball in the nearby Palace Arcade that was unfortunately closed than paying out $80 for only an hour and a bit of console gaming.

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed our museum and the arcades but am sorry you feel it wasn't as engaging for your family as you hoped. We always try to ensure every experience is a wonderful one and with us moving to our bigger location in West Perth we hope to have even more consoles and types of games out (including Dance Dance Revolution, more racing and shooting games, and different consoles like the Dreamcast). Should you decide to come back I would be very happy to offer you a 20% discount off your visit to try it again. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you in the future :-) -Dave, Owner

Had a blast playing all the old school games and checking out the museum was cool too. The person running the place was charismatic and helpful. Would love to return when we are back in Perth. This trip has inspired us to purchase a Super Nintendo.
