Great luncheon experience

I was invited by a local parliamentarian for lunch. The service was impeccable while the food was cooked perfectly and delicious.

Parliment House is the home to the people we voted in to run our state. Mmmm, the building is nice from the outside I have not been inside.

I am a Western Australian by birth and I have been in Parliament House many times. The chambers are quite beautiful -- the Legislate Assembly is in green and an the Legislative Council is in red, as is customary in the Commonwealth of Nations. I must say that those in charge of the Parliament, presumably the Presiding Officers, have never... More

I have always thought that the Parliament of Western Australia is one of the best Houses of Parliament in Australia. It's not mock Tudor or Regency, it looks totally Western Australian. Although I have been in the Parliament many times, it is not easy to gain entry. If you wish to visit the Parliament, it's best to find a convenient... More

While waiting for the next CAT bus to arrive in front of the Parliament House, we took a good look at the building. After being used to seeing a grey marble parliament house in Adelaide, this sandy coloured building gave me a different impression of politics.

We visited Parliament House for one of its twice weekly 1 hour tours. The guide (Education Officer) was friendly and very knowledgeable. The building itself is something to behold, the Jarrah wood that is visible throughout and the workmanship that it must have taken is something else. We got the history of the convicts and how they came over from... More

Full of politicians. Rather an impressive building on the outside but needs a bit of a makeover inside. Overlooks Perth and the freeways.

Went on a great (free) tour today, which was a fascinating insight into the workings of government in WA, and a brief history of WA. Tour guide Michael was extremely knowledgable and friendly. I even got to sit in the Premier's chair in the lower house, which, for a politics dork like me, was very cool :)

We attended a free guided tour as part of Open House Perth in November and found it very informative. The tour was when Parliament was not sitting so we got to into the chambers and sit in the Member's seats. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained how Parliament is conducted, all the key parts of the building and the... More
