Beautiful, elegant and stately, the red bricked Government House is used by the governor obviously. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens but there's a high wall around it and high gates guard the entrance
I don't know if you can go in, it didn't appear to be open to the public during our few days in Perth but to fair iI didn't try to access it so it may well be possible.
Beautiful building and worth a look whether you go in or not!

Government House Perth was not, for many years, a desirable residence. However, the current version, completed in 1864, has served welll as the Office of Government in Western Australia. Characteristic of public buildings constructed in the 19th century, Government House is made of red brick and stone, mainly with convict labour. Government House is a mish-mash of 19 th century architectural styles, but it is mainly Gothic Revival. Government House is a hansome building; the public may enter from Tuesday to Thursday, check times before you go.

No-one is exactly sure what goes on in Government House, but it you get an invitation, go. The building is a fine example of colonial era craftsmanship; I have been fortunate enought to be invited to functions at Government House several times and it's worth the effort. The WA Governor is the Representarive of the Head of State. The current Governor is Kim Beazley AC, one of WA's most respected public figures.

Government House is in St George's Tce. It's one of Perth's most prominent and least visited Colonial buildings. Like many early Perth buildings, it was build of red brick, by convicts. Government House contains the office of he Governor of Western Australia. It is an appointed office; the Govenor's powers are largely symbolic. Government House hosts open days frrom time to time, it's well worth a visit

Government House was built between 1859 to 1864, mainly by convict labor. Like most public buildings of the time, it is built of red brick. I have been fortunate enough to visit Government House several times, it is a fine building. A later addition, the Ballroom, hosts public functions. Government House is the official seat of the Governor of Western Australia. Government House is not usually accessible to the public, but you can visit on the open days, which are held from time to time.

The Government House was built in 1863. It is still pretty and it has 3.2 hectares of trees, plants and flowers.

I liked the flowers the most, as well as the mansion. Truly beautiful!

Worthwhile to see!

The Government House gardens are open 3 days a week for 2hrs, I have lived in WA a long time and never been before. Put it on your to do list, you can walk around or just sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. I will be returning when they have the house open later this year.

Most people have never been inside Government House, it's a bit of a mystery. It houses the Governor of the State of Western Australia. I have been inside on several occasions, it's a fine Victorian-era building, made of red bricks.
