The mint is a great lil gem in Perth. Plenty of goodies to buy. Jewellery. Coins. Good and silver. All the good stuff.

Tours last about 1.5 hours. You can see the world's largest gold coin (one tonne) and the pouring of gold into a mold. There is also a cafe and gift shop.

Bit awkward to get to by bus due to one-way route. Would have appreciated more chairs. Pointless short video ahead of the informative talk and demo. Some exhibits had speaking info, but it was barely audible above people talking. Needs sub titles.

Have to turn up at pre-arranged time. Tour shows gold being poured at the end, which was the highlight. Worth the money.

Fascinating place. We have been there on several occasions and always recommend it to our friends who might be travelling to Perth. It's a great place to call in and buy a souvenier

We went based on the reviews. The tour was informative and had gentle humour. Watching the gold get poured was good. We had morning tea at the cafe, great service and a delicious macaroon for the kids. Lovely gift shop to browse. Worth the visit.

We were easily able to buy tickets on arrival a couple of weeks ago and that was a Saturday, so shouldn't be a problem midweek.

If you are interested in the inner workings of a Mint. There is an entry cost. For cheaper things to do, look up Perth Walking Tour or visit Claisebrooke Cove
