Our tour guide was great! Very entertaining and informative. We started outside with the history of finding gold in Australia and in particular, WA. Then he showed us replicas of some good "nuggets". I use that term loosely because 3 of them filled a wheelbarrow! He took us inside and we watched a 5 min. movie and moved on towards... More

We were very impressed by our tour of The Mint. The initial talk was very interesting historically and there was a lot of gold for you to see and actually touch inside. The gold bar pouring demonstration was great and we actually went back later in the day and saw another pour as you can come and go on the... More

This is an incredible walking tour of the inside of the Mint. You get to see a gold bar melted and poured to make a gold bar again. You can also have coins engraved to your own words and designs. The café is small but has a lot of pastries. There is a gift shop that has all kinds of... More

We went to the Mint as part of our walking round the heritage trail in the city. It's a fascinating place, with lots of exhibits and staffed by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Make sure you use the café as well, lovely snacks seated outside by a great display from Perth's history.

I wasn't sure what to expect visiting the Perth Mint, but found it more interesting than I had expected. There were 2 downsides to the visit, the first being that as it was the peak holiday time with the subsequent guided tours being too crowded with the second downside being that they weren't giving out free samples of what they... An excellent history lesson! Option of looking through the Mint shop & expensive gold jewelrey!! or taking the Mint tour. this starts from Gold being discovered to the beginnings and success of the Perth Mint. Tour includes viewing the worlds largest coin weighing in at 1 tonne!, How gold ingots were produced to viewing the making of commemorative coins. Very... More
