They were in between exhibits when we visited so there wasn't much to see. Check their website to know the timeframes for exhibits. The building is mainly used for performances.

Okay there's always something interesting to see at PICA and it's different as you'd expect from contemporary art. There's also good food and drinks at the PICA bar on the corner too.

Contemporary art exhibitions for free? Yes please! Or, at least it's always been free while I was in Perth. Anyways, I always returned every time the exhibition changes. Every exhibition has something to offer and they never fail to give me inspiration and reflection. Come give 'em a visit when you can!

I had a day to kill in Perth so started off at the art gallery before spotting the signs to PICA. Once inside I was pleasantly engrossed in more than a few of the exhibits. They were showing an exhibition of student art from around Australia.the layout of each exhibit around the building was well done despite the small die.... More

How hard can it be to cook poached eggs, bacon and toast? Well a visit this morning to the Pica bar certainly showed me that it must be a lot more complex than I thought - it took well over half an hour from order to table service! If the food hadn't been quite good I'd have given even less... More

Hi Mark, Thanks for taking the time to write a review, I'm terribly sorry you had a less than excellent experience at PICA Bar. I am passing your feedback onto PICA Bar management (they are a separate business to the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA)) and will follow up with them. Thanks again for your feedback. Best, Renae More

Every time I'm hanging around the Library/Museum area, I love popping into this little spot. It is a hop skip from the Perth CBD train station. Great indoor and outdoor seating. Your typical Perth beer prices. Nice open, downtown(y) views and lots passer by-ers. I've had two meals here, one late night menu of sausages and bread, my goodness this... More

Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) exhibits are supremely thought provoking with topics ranging with adult in nature to morbid curiosity wonderfully presented. The institute is definitely a must see when exploring the area which also contains other museums of art and nature making it a great place for a day trip to explore.

The contemporary art is creative. Some of the picture is nice and view from different perspective gives different type of meaning and image. Worth the time going.
