My boy (14yo) & i hired bikes to explore the area and found the river and its surrounding very pretty and serene. The paths for the cycling was easy as well!

Walk around and over the bridge, you will get some great pictures with the reflection off the water, stop in a few watering holes and take in the sights

Parking in Perth is difficult & expensive but parking in South Perth is easier but not free either. You can catch the train to the Esplanade/Elizabeth Quay station. The ferry is a Transperth boat and normal fares are... More

Bit late, but there is a shed on the opposite side of the river from the town center which hires them out.
