This was our third visit (2015, 2018, 2022) and we have purchased 4 pieces to bring home to Canada. All the art is aboriginal and ranges in style from traditional to contemporary. Exhibitions change regularly. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, both at the Short Street and the bungalow locations. A Broome must see. Highly recommended.

A tiny space hosting some large and powerful indigenous art. International quality work that's worth checking out.

We have purchased indigenous art works from here before and did so on this trip too - a great selection of art and other collectables.

Short Street Gallery is housed in 2 separate buildings; in Chinatown and at Town Beach (The Bungalow). The gallery in Chinatown exhibits different Indigenous artists on a monthly basis. While we were there, it was artworks by a mother-daughter team. The gentleman working there is a very friendly person giving information about the exhibition there.

We went to The Bungalow 2 days later and we found that it was more of a shop selling Indigenous artwork. One is free to browse around and look at the different pieces of art or ask assistance from the friendly staff there should you be interested to purchase a piece.

Make sure you visit both places.

Had to give an average review as we turned up twice during our week visit during the opening hours detailed on the gallery door only to find it shut. Looks like there is some great stuff inside but recommend calling ahead to see if it will actually be open. In the garden of Matso’s brewery so not completely wasted trips

The artwork in this gallery really spoke to me. It is stunning, and whilst no doubt appropriately priced, well out of most people's budgets. But still so worth going to view these artworks, and dream of what one might do with an inheritance or lotto win...

A nicely laid out gallery of the local indigenous artists. It was good to see so many red stickers on the artworks!
