This review is for senior walkers.
Our group of four ranged in age from 65 to 78.We did the walk in six days.
The walk was amazing with a huge variety of different scenery ranging from beaches to kari forests.
We did the walk over six days. Each day we left a car at the finishing point for the day. We then drove to the start point for the day.
In hindsight we would have done the walk in seven or eight days and not six.
Seven days would make each day about 18 kilometers.
We would also add one or two rest days without any walking.
The Cape to Cape Guidebook and maps are essential.
There are difficult sections on the walk.
Beaches and dunes, where the sand is soft, is very energy draining.
Some of the rocky headlands can be challenging.
Walking the track is not like walking along footpaths in suburbia.
It is essential to ensure walking shoes or boots are comfortable.
It is especially important to ensure walkers have footwear of the right width and not footwear that pinches the feet. Wearing two pairs of socks helps prevent rubbing.
A minimum of two litres of water is needed each day.
The walk is a challenge but well worth it.
The weather was kind to us with light cloud and temperatures in the low 20's.

The scenery and wildlife were fantastic. I don't think I have ever experienced seeing whales up so close from the shoreline. Breaking up the trip by having a bed midway at Prevelley was a very good idea - to dry out gear that got wet, clean clothes for the second half and to pick up food for the remainder of the trip (and get additional water tablets and bandaids). Can't recommend the local accommodation / friends of the cape accommodation supplier enough.

The Cape to Cape Track extends some 123 KM from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin along the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge and covers beaches, forests and trails through the park. It has great beauty and is diverse in its landscape. Too bad about the flies in summer.Walk various various sections for the best views and cover one end to the other by car with occasional stops at key points unless you are fit and do the full walk.

My daughter and I walked this track last April. We put it together rather last minute and could not have done it without Cy Fort of Southwest Driving Services. He met us promptly each morning where we parked our car at each stage's ending point. He would then drive us to the beginning of the stage. It was a beautiful and challenging trek, which we enjoyed immensely. Most days we never saw another person. What an experience to have such beauty all to ourselves. A very belated thanks to Cy for his help!

My daughter and I walked the track as a celebration of her high school graduation. My husband dropped us off each morning and picked us up each afternoon at a predetermined time and location (mobile reception can be patchy).
We had cool weather in the mornings (15oC) and warm weather during the day (mid to high 20’s). We started our hiking around 6:30am and finishing mid afternoon. We began our walk in the north (Cape Naturaliste) and travelled south (Cape Leeuwin), covering the full 135km track in five days. We only met six other hikers during this whole time, all self guided pairs like ourselves. We used ‘The Cape to Cape Track Guidebook’ by Scott and Forma extensively, the maps and descriptions were invaluable. In addition to the usual hiking gear, bring sunscreen, food and plenty of water as it is not easily available on the track. We also carried a first aid kit, with snake bites being our biggest concern.
For the most part the views over the ocean are spectacular, although you will also hike inland, over cliffs and up sandy hills. The people you meet on the beaches are very friendly, many of whom will be locals.
The track was an amazing challenge and a definite must do in Western Australia

Fantastic views and refreshing walk.
Take plenty of water
Medium level difficulty. Steep sections have either man made steps or medium sloping ground.
Despite it being a warm day a sudden chill ran down my back when I crossed the section between the abseiling cliffs and the Wilyabrup brook to the north.

My husband and I recently returned from W.A. We did the Cape to Cape Explorer tour. I can't recommend this trip highly enough. It was truely amazing. This company is the best. Everything from accommodation to all the food provided was supurb. The organisation of pick ups and drop off was fantastic. Gene and his team were all incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He even through in a wine tasting trip!
It is certainly a challenging hike in parts and a reasonable level of fitness is needed to cope with many kilometers of soft sand, but we were rewarded with magnificent scenery and at the end of the day very comfortable accomodation and beautiful Margaret River produce.

Drive from the Cape Leeuwin end up so you are on the easy side of the road to drive into every beach. The higher you go the better it gets. One of the best road journeys we have ever done.

WA’s infrastructure is excellent with the viewing options exceptional.

A must do in WA. We intend to fly to awA to repeat this and we normally don’t repeat! An absolute gem.

3 of us walked this track end to end in March 2019. We walked North to South and did 4 days, had a day off, then walked 4 days. We were dropped at the track every morning and picked up at a pre designated point each afternoon. We stayed in Air BNB houses along the way. We planned this trip ourselves, not with a treking company.

As an averagely experienced tramper, I found this trek mostly enjoyable. Please note that there are very long sections of soft, heavy sandy beaches, and sand dunes. This makes for heart pumping walking!

I walked in soft shell boots, with no gaters, and one day due to blisters, I walked 16km in jandles (not to be recommended) . We saw goanna's, 1 snake, 1 spider and all sorts of different insects. The coast line is spectacular and the forest, even better.

I would definately recommend this trip to others with a reasonable level of fitness.
