The building built by Alfred Nicolas of ASPRO fame in 1928 along the Chicago School style has seen better days and some of the Swanston Street tenants do not add to the magnificent old building but the arcade has retained its beauty and is worth...More

I have walked through Cathedral arcade numerous times & always admire the Art Deco architecture which has the most stunning ceiling which is definitely worth viewing if your into architecture. The arcade is located in Swanston Street connecting to Flinders Lane.

This cathedral arcade is a lovely thing to see if you happen to come across it. It's not easy to find or obvious and it's not well sign posted. It's a lovely architechtural feature.

This is a beautiful old arcade that gets lost and fails to meet its true potential with some very average retailers in an around this area.. Worth a visit and hopefully it can be improved with time.

One of the problems with finding Cathedral Arcade is that it is over the road from St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, not part of the cathedral complex. You can enter from Swanston St or Flinders Lane. Architecturally, it's a very nice piece of Art Deco design....More

This arcade is surprisingly easy to miss even though it has entries from Swanston St and Flinders Lane. However although small, its beautiful ceiling work will reward any detour made through it. The round domed ceiling at the apex of its walkways is particularly impressive.

Stunning laneway, connecting Flinders Lane to Swanston Street. The art deco arcade from the mid 1920's is fully covered by stained glass and leadlights. Listed building.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary

throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
