Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

I recently had a disheartening experience with Team Driver in Melbourne, specifically with Team #11. Despite my efforts to communicate and my clear need for assistance, they refused to open the door while I struggled with my luggage.

During my recent trip, I pressed the open button while carrying my luggage, expecting prompt assistance from Team #11. However, to my dismay, they outright refused to open the door, leaving me stranded with my belongings. This lack of cooperation and basic courtesy was highly disappointing and reflects poorly on the professionalism of Team Driver in Melbourne.

Trams are often late. Then they're sometimes early....so early you miss them. If you've got an important meeting go at least two trams early and plan an alternate route

I ran trying to catch a train in the evening of 3 December 2023 at Errol/Queensberry. Be there at 7:40pm where one Tram 57 just arrived and stopped (I think it was Tram No 156). And the next one is 15 mins away. The driver did not open the door for me. I knocked and he acted as if I was not there, I knocked again, the same.

Then he started moving so that if I did not move he would have wheeled me over. I wonder what was on his mind. Maybe he did that just because he could?. I am a mid 50s Asian woman, and he is a young Caucasian man. I guess we both live in Melbourne.

Melbourne has always been good. Yarra Trams almost always awesome. And one tram driver would not change my happiness being and living in Melbourne. A little shock ofcourse. But such is life.

I hope that driver would one day be a better one.

Needs a serious reformation of their myki inspectors - thuggish brutes with education levels of a 10 year old who swarm people in packs, intimidating them to reach their daily quota. Anyone working in this role likely has no soul, and more than likely has a superiority complex where their modicum of authority this job gives them makes them feel entitled to bully passengers.

The Melbourne tram network is excellent, in particular the free trams in the city area. One trip was spoilt by seeing a network map graffitied by some idiot ,see photo. What type of absolute juvenile mentality would do this ?

Melbourne has one of the world's most extensive tram networks. The trams go everywhere in the city and inner suburbs. The trams are inexpensive; you must have a Myki, which can be bought at most stations. Cash is not acceptable. The colorful Art Trams are brightening up the city, they are decorated with indigenous themes. Yarra Trams run a reliable service; the trams are usually on time. Trams are a much-loved feature of Melbourne.

The tram system is a huge part, of this amazing city, so happy the kept them as other places we getting rid of them, the free green tram area, is an added bonus, making it so easy to get around the quite big CBD, a visit is not complete without enjoying this fun public transportation.

The trams are awesome. Always on time. And it’s free if you ride within the CBD area. Makes places easily accessible and it’s fast. Just that be prepared that it will be packed during evening peak hours.

Melbourne is famous for its trams; the city has one of the world's most extensive tram systems. Since Yarra Trams took over management of the system, both reliability and punctuality have improved remarkably. The trams go almost everywhere in the city, if you know the tram route it's almost impossible to get lost. These days, many of the trams are "art trams." These brightly decorated trams brighten up the City. By the way, you must have a Myki card, cash is not accepted. Myki cards can be used on trams, trains and buses. Myki cards are quite inexpensive.
