We have been many times to the Wheeler Centre to listen to many interesting discussions. From authors to politicians to entrepreneurs, panels and individual talks. They are always interesting and worth attending. A wide variety of subjects are included in their programs.

Check the local papers if you're in town to see who is speaking at the Wheeler Centre. Attached to the State Library of Victoria, the Centre hosts writers, both local and international, to speak about their books, the world situation, ethics, issues. This is a...More

The Wheeler Centre is in Little Lonsdale Street, adjoining the State Library of Victoria (SLV). The Wheeler Center provides services for writers. Check the schedule to find out what's on at the centre. You may find something that interests you, you may not.

I got to reception, but that is as far as it went. No assistance to writers at all. This appears to be another Government of Victoria to 'aid' writers, who don't really need help.

This centre, dedicated to the written and spoken word is wonderful. This years opening session saw 10 authors discuss the book that changed their life, in front of a full house at the town hall. The year is always full of interesting discussions on upto...More

This place has quickly become another Melbourne landmark and we are lucky to have somewhere dedicated to the written word. There are so many events here there's bound to be at least something to suit everyone. Dive in and enjoy!

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
