Having lived in Japan for six months and receiving a gift voucher from my brother for my birthday I was excited to experience a little taste of Japan here in the heart of Melbourne. The reception staff were extremely polite and courteous and made me...More
Wonderful experience visiting this place. A friend and I had the private bath and massage. Masa, my therapist, was incredible. I got a full body massage and he then worked on a few pain points around my back. Overall, a totally relaxing and amazing experience!
It's a bit on the pricey side but it was very relaxing.
The staff at Onsen Ma are courteous and lovely. Located down a lane and heading up some stairs, upon entry alternate footwear is supplied so you can enter the bathing spaces (as you...More
I got given a voucher for my birthday for a bath and massage. I really did not know what to expect, it may seem a bit intimidating to be naked around strangers but you quickly get over it.
Very clean and organised, great staff, the...More
Visited here around lunch time on a weekday so it was very quiet which was great. Although I have never been to Japan, it felt like an authentic Japanese experience of a bath house. It is in an old warehouse so it is a bit...More
My husband took me here for a couples spa and massage. Hidden down one of Melbournes many laneways the entry is understated. Don’t let appearances set your expectations! The bathing pool was hot and clean. The sauna amazing. Massage and staff professional. We will be...More
I have been here a number of times. I've only been to the public pools which have a max of 6ppl at any given point of time. The bathrooms are spacious. As they are public, the noise level is very much depends on the crowd...More

Located in the heart of the city, hidden in a small lane. This is an oasis of calm & relaxation. Modelled on the Japanese style public bathhouse. you don't need to travel to the countryside Japan to soak in a large hot pool.
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
