The area has it all with arts, restaurants, hotels and great views and access to the Yarra River.It is only a short walk from the central business district and you also have access to all the parks and gardens to the south of the city.

You have not visited Melbourne if you havent visited the SouthBank. Fun, music, artisists and even a market this last weekend. Boats , river and lots to see and do. Too bad the river is dirty, you would think the Aussie's could get it cleaned...More

Recommended for accommodation when visiting Melbourne. On banks of Yarra River CBD is within walking distance as is the multi faceted cultural centre. The Travel Lodge is popular and well located. Elizabeth K

It's nice to promenade along here day or night. You're between the Yarra River (you're on its south bank opposite the city business district) and a long stretch of leisure-oriented venues (fast food, cafes, restaurants, hotels, etc). There are ferry departure areas, water features, buskers....More

This is the main tourist spot here.A good place to spend time with your family and friends. A very good selection of restaurants .You can take a boat cruise or walk.Across the river is the railway station.
