visited two of the beautiful gardens on a Friday and each one was worth visiting. There seemed to be preparations for something on the weekend in both as there were people setting up marquees

Visited on a wet and rainy day did nothing to dampen the beauty of Melbourne's Gardens. It will be nice to stroll through on a hot Summer's day.
If you want a peaceful walk, this is the place.l

Victoria is known as the Garden State. Melbourne's gardens attract both locals and visitors. Among the best-known gardens are the Royal Botanic Gardens, which has magnificent mature trees and rolling lawns. Treasury Gardens are on the edge of the CBD. Fitzroy Gardens are the most famous inner city gardens, they have many attractions, including the popular Cooks Cottage, said to be the family home of Captain James Cook RN., Flagstaff Gardens are the highest natural vantage point in the City.

What a wonderful experience. We took the took the dogs for a wander and were delighted at the variety of species from the giant shade trees to the cacti garden and everything in between. The lakes/ponds, flowers, signage and all so well maintained.
