Don’t miss. Spacious. Beautiful. Fragrant and easy to get around. Lots of birds benches to sit and enjoy.

A titchy bit disappointing. Lots of lovely flower and shrub beds, water features and a free cart to catch a ride. But nothing majorly spectacular when you compare to other ROYAL botanical gardens around the world. It’s worth a visit but we were glad it...More

Beautiful gardens. Could spend a day there. The children's garden is delightful to walk around and the many paths taking you all over the gardens to so many different areas and views over the lakes and out towards the city. Delicious choice of food at...More

I enjoyed my time at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne. There is definitely plenty to see and do including the Shrine of Remembrance which has an indoor museum which I believe is fairly new, lots of flora and fauna walks and shaded spots as...More

Many people come here for a variety of reasons - some to run on the outside track ("The Tan") skirting around the Gardens, others for the plants & trees, many for the shows put on at summer time. But I like to bring my international...More

If you enjoy peace and tranquility the botanic gardens are a haven in the centre of bustling Melbourne. If you like plants I suspect it’s better still. Well maintained with a range of facilities and lovely shady places it’s a great place to just chill...More

The Royal Botanic Gardens are absolutely beautiful and there is something for everyone. I enjoy spending a whole day just strolling along the many paths and taking breaks laying on the grass. Taking snacks is essential to have a stress free day in the gardens.

I've been going to the RBG since the 1990s when I lived in Melbourne - it's one of my favourite places in the city. After having moved away, I would still venture a trip to the gardens whenever I'm in Melbourne. It's just a relaxing...More

We spent the best part of a day here wandering around, lots of trees unlike those found in the UK. The cactii area was well thought out and the lake was very scenic. Very relaxing place with a few gentle slopes to negotiate.

It is a nice 15 min. walk from the city (where the free tram zone is). Anyway you can also get closer, for example by trams going along St Kilda Road (St Kilda direction).
