I love bathhouses and have travelled to Japan many times, I am so happy to have this beautiful bathhouse available in Melbourne. The bath is just beautiful and super clean, the sauna is slightly small but is super clean and the staff are always on hand to make sure it is spotless. The bath is limited sadly to 1hour however... After traveling around through Japan in January, I found myself missing visiting an onsen during the cold weather. The Japanese Bath House in Collingwood is fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were clean and modern. Everything that you could need was provided and easily accessible. It was my first experience with Shiatsu and I found it very... More

Simply a place to escape the outside world, soak in a really hot communal bath and let time disappear. There is a sauna as well, but I don't really like saunas. The bath, the soaking and the float away with your thoughts make this place fantastic. I cannot compare this to "traditional Japanese bathhouses". I try to visit whenever I... More

Unlike the busier places, this is small and intimate .. I took a pal with me who wasn't familiar with the practice, but felt right at home quite quickly, as there are enough seclusion options not to feel like you have to be exposed all the time. Other visitors offered helpful advice, like mixing sauna spells with cold showers and... More

I left feeling wonderfully relaxed, the shiatsu was excellent especially after a hot soak. But having not been for quite a few years, and having been to Japan now, I feel the facilities and attention to detail could be better. The massage chair in the chill out area was broken and the sign looked like it had been there for... More

Although this bathhouse is quite small, compared to others I have visited, it had all the essential features to make the visit enjoyable. The bath was at a good temperature and large enough for up to 8 people. There was also a dry sauna. After a one hour soak in the bath the one hour shiatsu massage was divine. Even... More

Initially I didn't know what to expect, being naked with other people can be a confronting thing. My western sensitivities aside, there is a wonderful freedom about bathing the Japanese way. Most sessions last 2 hours, one hour in the bath and 1 hour relaxing on the tatami lounge. The bath is a little on the hot side, over 40°... More

What a fantastic place to visit....greeted at the door by very welcoming young ladies...our shoes were put into a locker, we were given a kimono top & a pair of shorts...then taken upstairs to the bathhouse. Here everything was explained to us...we stripped off, went into the bath room, washed, then stepped into the bath...sooo relaxing...the bath is deep &... More

I go to the Japanese bath house for a bath and shiatsu every time I go to Melbourne. It's open quite late so I can always squeeze a booking in after work and before dinner. I am yet to have a bad massage here. The facilities are by no means luxurious but the impeccable Japanese hospitality and cleanliness makes up... More

My partner and I visited on a Tuesday evening. The staff were delightful and delivered the true Japanese version of customer service. The baths are single sex and naked. This can be confronting for Westerners but you soon get used to it. The baths are not hot by Japanese Onsen standards - about 40 deg C. Despite what another reviewer... More
