My wife and I booked the Gray Line day trip to Phillip Island for the Penguin Parade and we loved every minute of this must-see wildlife experience. The day was made all the more enjoyable by coach driver James who multi-tasked as guide, wildlife expert, storyteller and comic. Considering he worked a minimum 12-hour day it was astonishing that he... More

We went for Great Ocean Day Tour with Gray lines and had excellent experience..Tour is long, but worth it once you reach to main spots like The 12 Apostles and so on. Our couch captain and guide was Mr Rob, and he was amazing in telling us the history behind everything throughout the tour. His knowledge about all the spots and... More

The motor coach is comfortable and roomy. The driver gave a nice commentary on the way to Philip island. He was knowledgable and very friendly. We saw lots of penguins. Upon return the driver dropped us off at the hotel.

We joined the combo tours to Philip Island and Mornington Peninsula on two days. All the staff at the pickup point (Federation Square) and the drivers (Rob and Paul!) were super helpful and friendly. We were lucky that the group to Mornington Peninsula was small, and hence we were more flexible on the itinerary. Paul brought us to a few... More

Fantastic tour. Our driver James was very knowledgeable and entertained and educated during the drive up. We saw more wildlife than we could have hoped for. The coach was clean, comfortable and the door to door service great. Highly recommended for Penguins and also Kolas and Wallabies.

Booked the express penguin tour with Gray Line, picked up from our hotel by Ian the coach driver for our 6:30 minute excursion. Ian was very informative and told us the best spots to sit and it was well worth listening to him. We paid for the Penguin plus ticket and it's worth the extra they waddle off the sand... More

We booked two tours with Gray Line through our local travel agent. Was served by Geoff and Rob, for the great ocean road and penguin parade tour respectively. Both drivers were funny and informative, provide good tour guide service and they are great drivers. Very professional, esp for Rob who did not flounder when the bus gave some trouble. He... More

Great experience. The Grayline coach was very comfortable and the guide pleasant and informative. He didn't talk too m uch and let us sleep on the way back! One of us is handicapped and we were so well treated. Shuttled to and from viewing platform, etc. We were glad we booked only the late afternoon departure for penguins only. It... More

UNFORTUNATELY WE BOOKED OUR DAY TRIP WITH GREYLINE as suggested by our hotel and spent the day on a crowded double decker bus. The cheery driver/guide never stopped talking!!!! He even pointed out a post in the ground 'where the pier used to be in 18... "Oh, look down there and you might see a house with a tennis court... More

We unfortunately had a bad experience with the Great Ocean Road day tour with Grayline. It seemed that there was insufficient time allocated to see the 12 Apostles and the Loch ard gorge which were the main reasons for going on the tour. Although advertised as part of the tour, you could only physically complete 1 out of the following... More

Dear Nightwire Sorry to read you did not have enough time at the 12 Apostles stop and the Loch Ard Gorge stop. We set aside 55 minutes at each of these locations. If you take advantage of the Helicopter Flight at the 12 Apostles, it is a 10 minute flight, so there is time to view the 12 Apostles by... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
