The sunshine was beautiful and the waters gentle. The commentary was pathetic, poor information and we could hardly understand the speaker. The speaker and the 'Captain' lacked personality and did not show any enthusiasm. Nothing much to look at - they should extend the trip...More

As it was a very hot day, we thought going on a river cruise might offer a nice breeze but unfortunately it was a very still dry heat. The boat is pretty old and not particularly nice. It's big with seats in a line like...More

Booked via their website, told a couple of hours before, the cruise was cancelled. Promised a refund, still waiting 4 weeks later!

Nothing against City River Cruises but there is truly nothing to see during the cruise. The boat is old but in fair condition, and the crew was pleasant. If you are looking to kill 60 minutes and are bored this may be the cruise for...More

On paper, this looks like a very good way to spend an hour while visiting Melbourne. It's reasonably priced (A$23 full adult fare). It was a decidedly average experience however. The boat we were on had seen better days. Instead of seats bolted to the...More

It's always nice to do a river cruise to get a different city perspective, hopefully learn a little of the history and get some relaxation after pounding the streets. We bought a downstream cruise with City River Cruises pretty much on spec. The boat left...More

We did the trip both up & down the river yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. We're locals but learned quite a bit from the commentary. It was good to see Melbourne from the river perspective.

From Federation Square, we did both the down-river cruise to Port Melbourne and the up-river cruise to Herring Island. Both were interesting, but very different, the downriver cruise showed wonderful views from the river of the Central Business District and of Docklands. There was a...More

We booked the cruise for a 50 minutes river journey through the port of Melbourne to the small city of Williamstown. There was an audio guide on the boat, but the quality was quite poor and most of the time we didn't get anything from...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
