A grand building with so much history. Every time that I go I wander how many Melbournians (Or Batmanians) as we may have been called have been here. The collection is amazing but the atmosphere just gives you such a calming and thoughtful feeling.

What is the point of having so much at hand, if it cannot actually be read? Not everyone is a full time academic able to devote days inside he library to read from the collection. Hence, most books I would guess gather dust. The excuse...More

Had a good wander through here. Super galleries with a great cross section of arts. Architecture was super especially the mail dome roofed room.

Would recommend going here to take cool photos, but honestly it is a place to study and read. I love it, the ambience and interior just makes it a comfortable place to study for hours!

Prepare to be amazed, this building is fantastic. Its a historic building and kept beautifully. Make sure you see the gallery and art halls.

Catch any tram on Bourke St, get off at Elizabeth /Bourke St Mall...walk down Elizabeth to Lonsdale st, Tram to Melb. central..Stop is right outside the library.

Sorry Marco, I have no idea. This is a wonderful building, over many floors. The upper floors circular the main part of the library creating an atrium type effect. There are many many books. There is always an exhibition and... More
