Although most convention centres are cavernous halls, and although the Melbourne Convention is also large with big rooms, it's also got some practical charm. Leaving aside exhibitions themselves, the building is practical, appealing to look at and very practical to use. Its location is superb...More

Excited about our Gala dinner tonight. Pity it was ruined by a band and sound engineers that thought they were more important than the cultural exchange the dinner was meant for. Sick of music that is so loud you can’t think, and people are driven...More

Visited on Saturday 3rd March. Whilst we were walking around we ventured inside to have a look, what a massive structure and well placed in the City close to public transport and with plenty of car parking available as well.

The MCEC is incredibly large venue where multiple events are held simultaneously. But be prepared to walk long distances and there are no travelators and the convention center warrants a walk through almost the entire exhibition center before walking some more to the entrances in...More

Here for a seminar having flown in the day before. A simple hand held carry on not allowed to remain with me. Very rudely told we couldn’t take them with us. That would be fine if we had previously known and we’re able to lock...More

Recently attended a conference here and the staff from the welcome , getting directions and receiving our food was of a very high standard. To not have to wait a long time when you are hungry with another 700 odd people was a highlight. The...More

we went to Dream Lovers -the Bobby Darin story. It was so good we could easily see it again and again. The talents of actors/actresses, singers and dancers ( they ALL do this ) is incredible. David Campbell in the lead role is the perfect...More

I attended a national conference over 3 days here and was impressed by the food and the big spaces. Only complaint - they sometimes closed doors and would not let you in until 10 minutes before the session started. The WiFi was fast and plenty...More

Been to several shows/conventions here in the past and just went to a show in the Plenary and was impressed by the space and sound quality of the venue. Parking was plentiful at the convention centre and the nearby DFO car park, food and drink...More

I have been to a play there and it was awful. You can only see the stage from the big Rv screens, so it is definitely not worth spending that sort of money for distant seats. The only seats worth having are up close.
