Sports lovers heaven! This is the place to be for sporting events and concerts in Melbourne. Always something happening be it tennis, cricket, football, rugby, concerts etc. The facilities are constantly being improved and you truly get a wonderful experience here. Parking is ridiculously expensive but there is tram and train access. It's also a 15-20 min walk to the city, depending on your speed of walking, or how thick the crowd is!! Food at the venues is pricey- as you'd expect. if you take your own water bottles you can fill them up inside...many concerts won't allow you to take drinks in- or they take the lid....I usually have a spare lid in my pocket to use once inside.

A big area and heaps of walking tracks and parkland to relax and enjoy a break just out of the Melbourne CBD.

This was the last of the grand slam venues we had to visit and we weren't disappointed. Sport of any kind is so important in Aussie culture. The event was well organised and we saw some great matches. The pick was probably Kyle Edmund beating Dimitrov in the Quarter Finals. The venue has a great atmosphere and everyone there is helpful and friendly. Good selection of places to get food and drinks and plenty of places go sit out and enjoy the weather. We watched a womens match between Wosniaki and Suarez Navarro which finished at 01:45 and there were trams waiting outside the stadium to take everyone back into the city, absolutely brilliant.

This venue is a wonderful sports complex which includes the tennis centre with its 20-something tennis courts, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground right next door to the tennis complex. We had a wonderful time here in January at the Australian Open Tennis Quarterfinals matches. We would love to have stayed longer and seen the semifinals and finals but that wasn't possible for us this time around. We loved the set up here - three arenas with retractable roofs (these courts can be used by the public at other times during the year), lots of memorabilia shops and of course, so many eateries. And all this is only about 1km from the city centre. There's a lovely walk along the Yarra River from the CBD to Melbourne Park and there's plenty to see along the river with all sorts of boats motoring or rowing up and down. We look forward to returning to Melbourne in the near future, it's a city we have come to love.

Visiting for the Australian Open is always a great experience. The facilities are second to none - food, drinks, bathrooms, gardens, seating, cooling spray fans...
Excellent views of the city from many of the outside stadiums.
It's easy to spot a player, especially in the early days of the tournament.

Melbourne Park is a sports complex. It hosts the Australian Open Tennis tournament each year, a Grand Slam event, It also hosts football (soccer), rugby league and rugby union. Other sporting clubs use the facilities to train. Melbourne Park is a world-leading grouping of sporting facilities. The best way to get there is by tram.

Melbourne Park hosts the Australian Open each year. But other than seeing a show here, there would be no point in going to this landmark. It's not open to tourists when there's no event on. Even though it's only a short walk down the river from the city.

The Australian Open tennis at Melbourne Park is an absolutely amazing experience! The venue has great fun bars and a wide variety of food and during the second week of the Open it didn't feel crowded or like it was quietning down.
