Only 3km from the CBD, Albert Park is popular for a range of activities like dog walking, jogging, cycling, sailing and rowing. Apart from the lake itself, other attractions include ovals, playgrounds, restaurants and a 5km walking and running track. Sporting facilities include a golf driving range, gymnasium and the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). Enjoy a barbecue or picnic with the family. Hire a boat and explore the lake. Walk, cycle or jog around the track, past green lawns and playing fields. Catching the tram is a great way to get to Albert Park. You see every weekend many many people exercising with their children, loved ones and pets walking round the lake or on the water. what a great peaceful atmosphere. Now it is nearly summer and there will be picnickers! There is parking and plenty of it. They have lots of wonderful charity walks round the lake. It is truly a wonderful... More

Albert park, especially in none grand prix time, is a nice relaxing walk around the lake, bring your pet pooch to join you with your walk, can be a bit chilly on cold days but the walk can be very invigorating, have done this walk on several occasions, and has always been a pleasurable stroll.

Albedrt Park is about 3 km (2 miles) south of the Melbourne CBD. It's a great place to play and a comfortable place to live. The area comes to life every year when the Australian Formula One Grand Prix is held at Albert Park.

When the high octane action of the Australian F1 GP gets motoring enthusiasts excited then Albert Park is where they want to be. For the rest of the year this very peaceful location, which is just a short distance from the city, is tourist hub. Hotels, shopping, easy parking , recreational facilities are all hallmarks of this still developing location.... More

Albert park has got some quite expensive houses there as it is so near the city and its main attraction is the car racing they have there every year. I myself would not like to live there, as even though the racing is only once a year, you can hear the noise of the cars for miles.

A brisk walk around the lake will take 50 minutes which has equipment for child play , exercise , barbecues , covered seating for a picnic lunch and sailing and rowing facilities . It is a short walk to Middle Park with an IGA , wine bar , pub and restaurants

Wanted to visit this park, primarily to see where the Grand Prix is held and to get a feel for it as haven't yet been to the race yet!! Day was fine and clear, with mild temperatures so great for a relaxed walk around the lake. Took the tram from the CBD which was a short 20 minutes or so... More

This area is very interesting. Walk from Albert Park towards Middle Park and look at the beautiful homes along the way. Go to Loco cafe in Middle Park and mix with the locals who are very friendly ... especially their dogs.
