Small beach

Not much of a beach, but a park to walk with dogs, and views out into the harbour. Some nice houses nearby.

We always enjoy visiting Sandy Bay while in Hobart. It has a peaceful feel to it, a place where one can take a walk on the beach and enjoy the scenery. There are some lovely eateries in the area plus some interesting shops. We always enjoy seeing the beautiful old historic homes in the area too

So much choice for places to eat and drink. A couple of Quirky bars, lots of good Asian food, and the superb Solo Pasta restaurant just off the main drag. Quite close to central Hobart.

This bay is just over the hill from downtown Hobart, but feels miles away, at the quiet beach that fronts a residential neighborhood. this is a great place to go for peaceful views of sailboats in a park-like setting, it is a dog walking beach, so be prepared to see folks who live in the are out and about with... A B&B with a difference! Federation style outside and lots of original features inside., owned by the Australian National Trust, and run by some very nice people.

We stayed in the area for 4 nights. It has a great ambience and you could spend several hours just walking or driving around. As someone earlier wrote, it's a bit like Sydney Harbour without the rat race or the over development. As much as I'd like to live there, I suspect that real estate is quite expensive.

Walked along the shore from the Casino to Nutgrove Beach. Only one street to cross in 2.5 km. Lovely walk looking at the harbor and the houses. We had a beautiful sunny day and warm weather. Would be equally good on a cool day. Worth a walk and sticky beak at the houses. Beautiful harbor views and nutgrove beach is... More

drove around the area and along the water, as this is the main attraction. Stumbled across a evening market with food, wine and fruit and veg and a guitarist.

Running right beside the bay this is an older suburb of Hobart with some wonderful old buildings, if you're into architecture it is a great place for a wander, along with most of Tasmania there are hills and lots of them. It really is about the view though and you would do well to find a better one
