Worth a visit be especially if you have had ancestors married here like we have. Our 3xGreat Grandparents were married here in 1812. So it was exciting to come and walk in their footsteps and take in the ambience. Wonderful stained glass windows.

This is a distinct church building among most low rise buildings in Hobart, Tasmania. I found the stained glass window painting very beautiful and took a snap shot of it.

We stopped in at this Cathedral on our way back to our accommodation. We have been doing this since a trip to Italy a number of years ago. How lovely. One could imagine all that has gone in this place. Very peaceful and reverent.

Wonderful stained glass windows. There was a good pamphlet available that explained features on a self guided tour.

This gave the impression of an old European style cathedral but is relatively new. Nice stain glass windows. Not many people inside so very peaceful

St David’s Cathedral is built from sandstone and local timbers in gothic style and is the second oldest Anglican Cathedral in Australia. The building that stands today isn’t the original church though, apparently the first one, a timber building was destroyed in a gale. Inside,...More
