We were staying local and looking for a safer area for the kids to swim and cam across Longbeach Reserve. It was jam packed with families and groups of friends. The beach area is in a small cove, so away from the tidal current and...More

One of Sandy Bay's "beaches" this place is dull and unexciting. Sure; you'll find pizza, coffee shops and a few park activities but this beach is so over-rated that the only reason I both to rate it is to caution those who'd think it desirable...More

A constant summer and sometimes autumn and spring place to visit, though walking your dog along the esplanade is great at any time of the year. Beach is always clean, the pontoon great fun and big grassy areas for picnics. The bbq facilities and toilets...More

If you want a beach to yourself - don't go here. If you want to swim in clean water - don't go here. short drive up the road is Taroona beach - incredibly clear water, cliffs and no bogans. Long beach is not worth it.

A great beach for families and the playground for the children is excellent - grandkids love going there.

Well there were the last time we were there, best to ask the resort. Would be very surprised if there weren't lights in the BBQ areas.
