Fun view of the old homes built in Hobart as one of the first housing developments. Nice walk downhill to the water which has a walk past the marine research buildings and a view of the finish line on the Sidney to Hobart sailboat race across the Tasman sea.

BAttery Point is jam-packed with little nooks and turns, all showcasing various little treasures including Jackman and McCross, Salamanca Markets, several art galleries, Da Angelo's, Hearth, A Tiny Place, The Maker and so many more secrets. Ssshhh!

After reading some of these reviews I am beginning to wonder if we visited the right place! Yes, there are some old buildings but most of them are a bit scruffy and run down and I think we only saw one café! We asked a local where Battery Point actually was and she said 'this is it'! So, I think... More

A wonderful look at "Old Hobart" up at Battery Point. A hill climb but some lovely old buildings and well worth the walk. Take your time and soak in the ambience.

We spent two hours walking to the various historic points, very enjoyable. This area has quite some history, and walking through this part of the city provides an understanding of how time has changed Hobart. Enjoyable and totally free!!

With tiny windy streets, alley ways, a village green, and lots of original buildings this is not a museum but a live inn area with businesses and several historic... More
