We had never been to Tasmania before and it was truly one of the most memorable holidays we've ever had - one of the magic days was on the Gordon River 'Spirit of the Wild' (upper deck) morning/lunch cruise ... the weather was perfect and the scenery was breathtaking.

What a place. Any wonder it’s a world heritage location. Seeing the magnificent Huon pines were amazing. What a spot. Experience it however you can but go.

The Gordon River is not only an amazing part of Tasmania but an area the whole country can be proud of. Best seen from one of the cruises that leave from Strahan it is worth the effort to visit this World Heritage area.

It was good Staff were friendly. Seemed to be a bit more commercial (my wife did it some years ago). Lunch was a buffet that was nice. If you come to Strahan you would do it. It is a world heritage. Boat was very luxurious, however bit more of a rustic boat would have been good

I took my grandchildren on the cruise and all of us enjoyed it immensly. We toured around McQuarrie harbour first out to Hells Gates and past the fish farms. We then went up the Gordon River and came to a landing where we got of the boat and walked amongst ancient trees. The huon pines are incredible and our guide was great. She talked about the eco system there and pointed out interesting growths and how the trees can live up to 3000 years. When we came back on board a scrumtious lunch was waiting for us.While we ate we were cruising to Sarah Island. We all went onto Sarah Island and there we had a guided tour of the island. The tour guides were great,Kiah our guide involved the group into the history of what went on in convict days and her humourus comments had us all laughing. No question went unanswered and she really knew her history. After that back on the boat and back to Stahan. It was well worth the cost as we left at 8.30 and returned back at 2.30pm.My granson(10) declared that was the highlight of our holiday and I must admit I feel the same way.Well worth doing

Couldn't have picked a better day to travel, apparently got to 23 and at times felt every bit of it. Staff were very informative and friendly with plenty of food for all. Paid the little extra for the gold premium window seats and if not for the 25% discount we got through the entertainment book the price could have been questionable. Captain took us through hells gates and out to cape sorell which was a bonus. Sarah Island tour was great with the tour guides very passionate and able to tell a good story keeping the guests interested the entire time.

It takes about an hour and and half to get there from Maydena but the scenery is spectacular. The Gordan River Dam is out of this world. Do the walk down to it. It's about 100 steps but well worth the view when you get there.

2 and 5 year olds loved kids room with video and toys. We loved disco saves commentary in sarah Island and the spectacular views of river and trees. Fun in rough water at hells gates. Nice staff. Not really a benefit to pay for premium seats on windows. Tables for family to eat/ draw/ play would be more beneficial. Great day for us

Payed for premium seats which after getting on board wernt much better than regular u were at the window but the standard seats in the middle are up higher and have nearly just as good a view if not better cause you can see out both sides of the ship. And if you sit at the rear of the ship on the right you get to eat dead last and have ppl lining up for seconds before you have even gotten up cause left rear get to line up first and it works it way up that side and then down the right which is suppose to be just the premium seating then after that basic seating which obviously no one keeps an eye on cause all the ppl in the basic justed jumped in with the premium so had to wait even longer than was meant to. PAYED FOR PREMIUM GOT NOTHING BETTER THAN BASIC lucky staff were friendly and the cruise is good or would have been a complete bust
