A really great place to stay. A quiet peaceful location , yet easy walking distance to Bakery, Butcher,Supermarkets etc. There were 3 couples in our group and we cooked many of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. BBQ is there too for those days when you prefer to eat outdoors. Lovely dining room and lounge too. Big selection of... More

8 mates touring KI for 1 night and 2 day of golf - 1 at Ocean Dunes & 1 at Cape Wickham - hard to split which was the preferred option but you won't be disappointed with either as long as you can hit a ball. Stayed at Ocean Dunes Hotel, Currie - quality rooms and very comfortable Dinner at... More

Had a great trip with Ausjet on their DC3 The return trip included bus tour of the island and a delicious buffet lunch at The Boomerang hotel, complete with panoramic views Annie was a fabulous hostess for the day, and our pilots very capable. The plane was more comfortable than economy on a commercial trip We were blessed with perfect... More

We went for the day with a large birthday group (28 in total) and it could not have been better. Very well organised by Shortstop, and the Gooney Bird flight was a unique experience. Lunch was at Boomerang, which was a very nice setting with the fare concentrating on local produce. A short trip around Currie followed, and Shortstop arranged... More

King island is both familiar and strange. Everyone is friendly even the other tourists. The landscape is very similar to many country drives in Victoria until you turn a corner and see something out of the blue. The best kept secret is the seal rocks view (one of the best coastlines in the world in our well travelled opinion. Another... More

They took thousands of dollars of our money and cancelled our King Island trip 4 months later. If it was because of bad weather I would understand, but staffing issues?! I emailed the company director and got nothing back. A very unprofessional company in my opinion.

So many people have never visited, or even know what King Island offers. I was once, (or that became many times) a visitor here. I loved this place, and the residents, so much so that I decided to move over here. King Island is a remote Island situated at 40 degrees south latitude, halfway between mainland Australia and Tasmania. Both... More

This weird place is actually just a beach shack filled up with all sorts of old stuff, like dining room equipment, crockery, cutlery, old record players and books and games. Lots of kelp sculptures and local artwork. You just turn up with your own food, give a donation towards the gas on the bar-b-que and cook up your own feast.... More

A visit prompted by the great cheeses! No ferries, flights only. Maybe this will change now a magnificent new golf course has been completed . It was not easy to book myself a trip and accommodation. After considerable googling and frustrating research, I was rescued by King Island Pleasure tours by the wonderful Bev Kenney, She organised a great driver... More

Lovely relaxing long weekend. Visited many of the beaches at all points of the island. Check out the book- walks of King island foe details of walking tracks. Lunch at cape Wickham golf club was a highlight - absolutely stunning views. Best coffee and lunch was at Bishoffs cafe in Bishoff's road about 8 min east of Currie. Catering is... More
