We made it to the only REAL lighthouse in south Australia, rough road, but that is just part of the kangaroo island charm. Enjoyed our tour with Mick the fastest REAL tour guide in the west. Came back for the very loud cannon firing. Not...More

We weren't able to take the tour but for anyone who is fascinated by lighthouses, this is a must see. The road is pretty rough - 30 Kms of corrugations, but it's manageable as long as you drive slowly. We got really close to a...More

Mick the tour guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and was passionate. I thought it would be another old lighthouse... boy was I wrong. Very interesting. We attended the 12.30pm tour and saw the cannon be fired. After, we did a 15 minute walk...More

Sure the road is a bit bumpy in parts - about 30 kms - but we did it easily in a Toyota Camry (our own vehicle). Did the full tour using our visitor pass. Mick you are a REAL gem - what a tour guide!...More

MIck, our splendid guide, should be chuffed to note that we listened carefully to his fascinating description of the ONLY REAL lighthouse! Yes, it is square, but it is right at the top of these amazing cliffs - be sure to do the guided tour...More

We visited all 3 lighthouses. Today two operate as beacon lights while the third one, Cape Borda is still a fully functional and operational lighthouse with onsite Parks staff. This lighthouse and surrounds are a "Must See" while on the Island.

Yes, it's a long way over a significant stretch of dirt road which is deeply corrugated in places. Not the best for a Honda Jazz. For me the cemetery was the most interesting part. A little bit of history in a peaceful place.

After driving one hour on a terrible road we had to pay $5 per person just to get closer to the lighthouse which is super small and not special at all. We were quite disappointed and could better have saved the money and spend it...More
