Amazing crazy piece of history. A true underground cave experience. A shrine to Crocodile Harry, would loved to have met him! We always take people here when in Coober Pedy it should always be the number one attraction.

Crocodile Harry’s Underground Pit in Coober Pedy is an interesting little piece of history/shrine to the man who passed away about a decade ago and part of movie history with scenes from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome being filmed here. There is a donation of $5 per person to go in and check out all the artifacts and see how Croc... More

Absolutely crazy, definitely a must see, I don't know what I was expecting but this was not it. I wish it had more information on Crocodile Harry himself but he was clearly an incredible man, I wish I had the opportunity to meet him when he was alive. Don't be put off by the long drive out, it is worth... More

This is off the beaten track and apart from the underground dugout and very weird yard there is masses of graffiti.

This dugout shows the life of a very interesting and talented man. There are cravings and sculptures made out of whatever came Harry's way.

The legend has passed but his legacy goes on. A crocodile wrangler, a miner, could one say a philanthropist of sorts. The mine open to the public for a small entry fee of $5 and is down a dirt road 4 k's from Coober Pedy. It's a place one has to see and experience.
