Working opal mine situated just 500m north of the town along the Stuart Highway. Open 6 days a week in off peak season and 7 days a week in peak seaason. Guided and self guided tours are available at our large underground reception area. See modern day equipment in action while on a guided tour with our experienced tour guides. Both tours are wheel chair accessible! See our showroom where you can buy souvenirs or high quality opal. We aim to give you an experience you will not forget.

If your in Coober Pedy you need to get underground, this is a nice easy tour which you can do as a group with a guide or do on your own with a map & info. The mine is not large so you won't get...More

Came back to Coober Pedy especially to see Tom’s. Phoned and phoned with no answer. Arrived this morning and all signs are up saying it’s open. Walked down to the ‘office’ and there is an A4 sign saying it’s closed until the 20th. Poor advertising...More

No but you can pick through the tailings its a bit of fun take home some slivers of opal. Its fun and interesting.
