Spent an hour or so in this mine tour. Interesting facts and lots to see including an underground house. Hard hats provided to protect your head as there are a few low spots on the walk around under the ground. Easy walk, nothing strenuous.

Underground world, mining - what we do know about that and people who lives there? The best place to visit is Old Time Mine in Coober Pedy! Friendly staff can tell you everything about the history of opal mining as well as today realities. Must see place.

This mine was the highlight of my 8 year old's whole spring holidays. He had a blast exploring the mine, using the mining equipment, noodling for opals and learning about how they are formed - not to mention a good hour or so piffing rocks with the owners son! The stories that accompany the tour are great and don't be... More
